Leopard of Ndutu

Panthera pardus

The acacia woodland around Lake Ndutu is a reliable place to find leopards waiting out the heat of the day up in the trees. After the kill, it drags the carcass into a tree to keep it away from most scavengers like hyenas, wild dogs and even make it harder for lions to steal (yes, lions can climb trees).
